Cromwell
Monday to Friday.
Our teaching team
Behind our gate you will hear and see children aged 2 – 5 years enjoying our large and leafy outdoor space with freedom to explore, connect with other children and learn through play - busy at work alongside each other and making choices for play that engage them with the people, the places and the things of our environment and community.
Here at Kidsfirst Cromwell our large, light-filled indoor space provides lots of opportunities to try new things, inspire curiosity and develop creativity through play. It's an atmosphere full of fun in an environment that gives our children independence and sense of belonging.
Out in our playground there’s space for running, jumping, climbing, swinging and exploring as well as peaceful places to connect with nature, garden, and make sense of our natural world. We place a strong emphasis on sustainability, and caring for our natural environment plays a large part in our daily programme – supporting the children to develop eco-awareness and to understand their role in it as Kaitiaki (guardians).
Our team ignites an excitement for learning in children by recognising and responding to a child’s individual interests. Play is essential to learning and development in our tamariki, and our programme is based on exploration, inquiry, creativity and nature-based education. We believe in uninterrupted time and space to grow and learn – our children and whānau are heard, and time to learn is unhurried. We see knowledge as a process, a discovery and building of understanding.
You're always welcome here! Building trusting, caring and respectful relationships with whānau/families over time is key to our success in supporting children’s learning. Parents and whānau contribute in many ways, including discussions about their aspirations for children, spending time with us in session, sharing their knowledge and strengths with kaiako/teachers and children. The language, culture and identity of our families is highly respected and valued - whānau/ families are viewed as significant partners, and are included in our early learning journey.
We have strong links with our local primary school, which supports the transition to school for you and your child, as he/she moves on from Kindergarten.
We would recommend that you enrol initially for at least two full days – building up to five days at your child's pace. This gives our teachers time to get to know your child and gives consistency around supporting their learning.
Come in any time, we are very proud of our unique learning environment and would love to show you around. Kidsfirst Kindergartens Cromwell is a wonderful place to learn!
From time to time we have special offers, to enable more children to come to our not-for-profit, community kindergarten. But hurry, spaces are limited and these offers only apply for a limited time. Conditions apply.
